75th Republic day Celebration
At Shikshantar the celebration of the 75th Republic Day was another event celebrated in ourown special way. The Class V children displayed remarkable creativity and talent through their presentation. They returned after the winter break with rejuvenated spirit and learnt that they will be hosting the Republic Day Celebrations. It was quite a task with limited time and some days being online.
The process began with circle-time discussions on 'Republic Day', followed by word webs and so on. The children were enthusiastic and eager and shared their ideas about the parades, tableaux that they watched with anticipation on Republic day celebrations each year. The zeal was evident as children took the initiative to work in groups according to their area of interest. Each team practised and slowly became confident and ready. Decorations went on a war footing, working relentlessly creating kites, chakras and other decorations.
Finally, the day came when they presented their work with joy. The coordination in dance, with melodious harmony in songs and portrayal of historical events through compering and tableaux left an indelible mark on everyone. The spirit of teamwork, dedication and enthusiasm was evident which not only reflected their creativity but also an understanding of the significance of the Republic Day. It was indeed a breathtaking presentation.
