Bhoomi Pujan
The circle of Shikshantar continues to grow and expand with us and as we took the celebration forward to celebrate the 22nd Shikshantar birthday we realised that with growth comes our needs. Shikshantar has grown and with development has grown its need for more spaces in the Primary School building in the form of new classrooms.
On the occasion of 22nd Shikshantar birthday Sanjay Prakash Bhaiya facilitated circle time sessions with the children of Classes I–IV emphasising our collective growth and how Shikshantar has evolved with each of us. He shared plans for the new construction with the students and children were excited at the idea of their Involvement in certain construction processes and experiences as part of their curricular experiences.
Sanjay Bhaiya also responded to children's questions and suggestions and warmly acknowledged their ardent wishes for a curved slide and a new Vanar Vatika.
Bhoomi Pujan was held on Wednesday, 18th September 2024. Our Class IV children were an integral part of this ceremony to create positive energy for the new classrooms coming up. Pandit ji while conducting the ‘Pujan’ shared its significance with the children and how unknowingly, in the process of construction, we may cause harm to living beings under the earth - insects, animals, plants. ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ is our little way of asking Mother Nature for forgiveness and protection of life under the earth.
The children’s involvement and rain showers as blessings of the rain Gods, along with the complete presence of the five elements, made it a truly special day.
