Hamara Manch 23-24
For the children of Pre-primary, this time of the year draws feelings of contentment, completion, a culmination of sorts. It is almost a year in their present groups. There have been experiences that they have cherished, those that will stay with them as lasting memories. ‘Hamara Manch’ is an encapsulation of these. This year it was held on Saturday, 24th February ‘24.The campus wore a festive look as it was adorned with the children’s art work. Buntings, banners, backdrops all bore colorful expressions of the children..
Each group had chosen, along with their didis, the specifics of their presentation. So while a group may have chosen to share about their experiences in Nandanam, another group of children may have chosen to share the enactment of a story that made them laugh no end. A story related to mapping, number songs showing numerical abilities, the presentations were varied, each bringing in different hues and moods. But each of them was close to the heart of the children presenting them.
There was ownership of each aspect of the presentation- the words, dialogues, steps of creative movements, actions to songs, clothes they were wearing etc.
There was joy, pride of accomplishment, faint awakening of confidence, assertiveness and an expression of the self, in each moment spent on the ‘manch’ by our children. ‘Hamara Manch’ comes once a year. But it happens to be the right time, just as the children are ready to take wings and fly to their next group.
