Janamashtami '23
Krishna, Kanha, Nandlal, Kanhaiya! He has many names.
Call him what we may, he is always a friend to our little ones of Preprimary block.
He is a friend who they would like to run around with, to play ‘hide and seek’ with, to sing and dance with or to share माखन with.
Through the theme on जन्माष्टमी, Krishna’s birthday, the children built a relation not just with the physical attributes of Krishna- the colour of his clothes, the mukut with a peacock feather in it, his flute and the sweet music coming through it, but also with his endearing qualities of being helpful, playful, dependable and loving towards one and all. They merrily sang songs of Krishna, did role plays where they were sometimes Krishna, at others मैया and then also cows following Krishna after grazing. Painting a मटकी, decorating their own मुकुट and बांसुरी, preparing माखन and lassi and then relishing them with friends, the children were enveloped in the aura of Krishna for a week.
“मैं बांसुरी बजा रहा हूँ, ऐसे। आप dance करो ”
“मैं माखन खाता हूँ, Krishna की तरह, देखो”
On the day of celebration, every child looked like Kanha- happy and mischievous.
Inspired by the story narrated by Seema Didi, each of them also believed that the flute in their hands was magical.
They looked awestruck at the story enactment, in dance form, by Sudha Didi and Suvarna Didi.
The simple and synchronized creative movements to the tune of a flute by Bhoomi group friends were appreciated by all.
We sang our favourite Krishna songs….
और फिर हम सब ने चुपके चुपके जाकर ख़ुशी से कान्हाजी का प्रसाद खाया
