Mathematics Workshop by Professor Surya Banerjee, University of Waterloo
An insightful Mathematics Workshop was organised on 4th October 2023 for interested students of Classes XI and XII. The interactive session was facilitated by Prof. Surya Banerjee, a renowned Mathematics Professor, from Centre for Mathematics and Computing, University of Waterloo, Canada. This event was aimed at introducing students to the captivating world of Games theory and its applications.
Prof. Banerjee introduced students to various concepts of game theory through a series of engaging games and puzzles. This hands-on approach allowed students to grasp complex ideas in a fun and accessible manner. His teaching style encouraged questions and interactions. Students felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and seeking clarifications creating a vibrant and collaborative learning environment.
Prof. Banerjee expertly connected the dots between mathematical theories and their practical applications using innovative examples. He vividly demonstrated how mathematics plays a pivotal role in the real world decision making process, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for the role of Mathematics in our life.
