Creative Art Workshops for Class IX

The Visual Arts Committee started the new session by conducting Creative Art Workshops for the students of Class IX. Free of cost and optional, the 4 exciting options offered were:

  • Zen-tangle art: facilitated by Suhani Kedia and Manya Chatterjee of Class XI
  • Fabric painting: facilitated by Navyaa Shishoo, Navya Bassi, and Peehu Saini of Class XII
  • Stencil printing: facilitated by Harnoor Kaur and Devanshi Bansal of Class XII
  • Caricature art: facilitated by Myra Talwar and Harpuneet Singh of Class XII

On Friday, 12th July, a bunch of students arrived at the Art rooms after school, eager to learn something new and fun from their seniors, which also provided a great opportunity for vertical interactions and new bonding.

The workshops were well-planned and facilitated with warmth and patience, the Committee members enjoying their new role as facilitators just as much as the participants enjoyed learning and creating. It was truly an immersive experience, with all of them focused and deeply engaged for all of two hours.

Working with a range of different tools and materials, from paints and brushes to pencils, pens, paper cutters, and OHP sheets, the young artists picked up valuable skills, techniques, and tips from their mentors. For the Committee members, it was well worth the months of planning and preparing to see the participants walk out at the end, pleased with their effort and holding up their artwork with pride!
