दशहरा - नवरस

The nine days before Dussehra are about exploring the nine emotions Shringaara (love/beauty), Haasya (laughter), Karuna(sorrow), Raudra (anger), Veera (heroism/courage), Bhayanaka (terror/fear), Bibhatsa (disgust), Adbutha (surprise/wonder), Shantha (peace or tranquility).
We experience all these emotions in different forms and situations. Sometimes it's love that conquers on other days it's anger that takes over. In our circle time for Dussehra celebration we collected our energies by acknowledging these emotions through meditation. We thought of ways and alternatives of creating a balance between our emotions. Then in groups we picked up different emotions and did an exhilarating fun activity. We made masks depicting each emotion and enacted them out through gestures and sounds. In small groups we worked together to bring these emotions together.
Watching each other we learnt more about the feelings associated with these emotions. We had fun learning about the Navarasa.
Happy Dussehra !
