Eid celebration 2023

The children of Pre-primary celebrated the festival of Eid with a lot of bonhomie. The preparations for it began by observing and then sharing about the shape of the moon in the night sky. Every school day, for at least a week before Eid, the shape of the moon was drawn on the chalkboard by Didis, as per the children’s description. Through stories like ‘Ismat ki Eid’ they got acquainted with the vocabulary and traditions related to this festival. The words ‘A salaam aalekum’, ‘sheer korma’ especially caught their attention and they wanted to know more about them. The experience of making their own ‘Eid ki topi’ and then wearing it while singing the song ‘Eid Mubarak’ was the highlight for many of the little ones. They carried the spirit of festivity to their homes too. Parents appreciated the tender way in which the essence of Eid festival was maintained while celebrating it in school.
