Hamara Manch Primary School 2024
An incredible array of displays was put together by the Primary School children in this academic year’s Hamara Manch. Celebrating the history of India as well as other themes explored in the classroom, the children showed their expanse of imagination and curiosity through their ideas.
The children chose to express their vision through song, dance and roleplay. A dance to the ‘athapoove’ traditional song commemorated the Onam festival in Kerala. An interesting play had two children time travelling to Harappan times to take in the ancient customs and architecture. In another roleplay, students shared their love for the experiences in Shikshantar through dances and songs.
In eager anticipation of the approaching Christmas holiday, there were many carols sung and some children also took part in a reenactment of ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’.
Altogether, Hamara Manch was a fascinating mix of ideas executed with unparalleled innocence and joy. Among the many themes put on display were the importance of water and its sources, our cultural diversity in festivals and dances celebrated across the nation, the rhythm of our bodies and so much more.
As the children shared their process histories for each performance, the pure sense of purpose was wonderful to see. The grandparents, parents and friends left contented and delighted at the maturity and clarity with which the students displayed their skills.
