Second Playgroup Open House
“My life has come full circle”
“I am moving in circles”
Adults often refer to a circle colloquially in such ways.
A circle is more than a shape for us.
But what is a circle for a child of 3 years?
How does it feel to befriend a circle, a friend who rolls and plays with you?
In the 2nd Open House on Saturday 26th August ‘23, parents of Raindrops, Dewdrops and Boond groups experienced the shape ‘circle’ as a friend and made new learnings for themselves. Learnings that helped expand their understanding of their child’s world. The topic for large group session was, ‘The what & why of a day in Raindrops, Dewdrops & Boond’. It was facilitated by Minoti Didi, who in her inimitable style, helped parents gain insight into the relevance of the different times of the day at school for their child. A playgroup child’s day at Shikshantar involves play, exploration, observation, discoveries, among several other experiences. The flow of the day enables an immersive and meaningful engagement for the child, through the seemingly play-based experiences. Minoti Didi’s facilitation helped parents make linkages with the school’s learning approaches and children’s age appropriate development.
