Shikshantar Annual Intra-School English Debate was conducted by the Literary Committee on Wednesday and Thursday, 3 rd and 4 th May for Classes IX to XII. With the participants delivering a riveting performance, the debates turned out to be a truly invigorating experience for everyone. The topics, suggested by Class XI students of the Literary Committee, were thought of keeping some of the contemporary issues in mind. The debate was conducted in two rounds. Round I was in the classical format. It was a prepared debate for which topics were shared a few days before the debate. They ranged from whether Clothing represents character to whether privacy can be breached for the sake of security. For XI and XII, the topics were more mature. Class XI debated on whether Life sentence is worse than capital punishment and if it’s right to separate the artist from the art. Class XII debated on controversial and highly debatable topics like legalization of drugs and same sex marriages.
