The children of Shikshantar were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the euphonic world of carnatic music as the halls of our amphitheatre were graced by the prolific artist Sudha Raghuraman Ji and her team of highly trained musicians. As a joint effort between the renowned organisation SPIC MACAY and us, the stage was set on a bright Friday morning for the performance.
Beginning the programme with diya lighting followed by the collection of energies through om chanting, the classic Shikshantar way was apparent. When Sudha Raghuraman Ji took the stage, joined by musicians, the extraordinary command she had over the audience of Vth to XIIth became evident. The musicians illuminated the stage with tunes and melodies characterised by their grace and calm, while Sudha Raghuraman Ji demonstrated her remarkable dexterity with voice modulation and instilling passion into her melodies. The artists created music that truly showcased their mastery of the art of carnatic music in harmony with Mridangam, Ghatam and the Violin"
